What is a refillable candle?

A refillable candle has two parts: a reusable jar and a removable wax insert. Once the candle has burned through, the empty refill is replaced while the jar stays exactly where it is.

It means you can keep the candle vessel you love, while changing fragrances whenever you feel like it.

Why we chose to do things differently

Most traditional candles leave behind a perfectly usable jar. Some people reuse them, many try to recycle them, but the reality is more complicated than most expect.

Candle jars go through repeated heating and cooling during use, which can affect the structure of the glass. Because of this, some councils won’t accept them in household recycling, even when they’ve been cleaned out. Leftover wax, fragrance oils and wick tabs can also create issues during the recycling process.

This conversation has reached millions of people through our social media over the years. Some are shocked by it, others relieved to finally understand why their local recycling rules seem so unclear.

For us, it highlighted something simple. If the jar still works beautifully, why replace it at all?

How our candle refills work

Once your candle has finished, allow the jar to cool fully, remove the wick tab, then place a fresh refill inside. Light it exactly as you normally would.

No melting wax at home, no specialist tools, no complicated process.

What makes ours different

We launched our refillable candle system in May 2020, becoming the first company in the UK to introduce candle refills.

Every refill is hand-poured using natural soy wax, carefully blended fragrance oils and a wood wick selected for a steady, even burn. They’re made specifically to fit our jars properly, so the performance stays consistent across every scent.

Each refill weighs approximately 200g and offers around 30 hours of burn time.
